     Spaniels and, retrievers taught to flush, are trained to vigorously quarter in front of their handler, while still remaining in gunshot range, and eagerly flush the concealed bird then at the time of the flush remain anchored in their location and mark the birds fall, and upon being commanded quickly deliver it to heel without ruffling a feather.
    Now that Boykin Spaniels are recognized by the AKC they can compete in AKC flushing competitions. I trained Edisto the 4^th Boykin to have both a show title and flushing title, and his daughter Abigail the 5^th Boykin to have both a show title and flushing title.
