Retriever Training

Pointer Training

Flushing Training

Obedience is the foremost building block to success with a Gun  Dog. Disobedient Gun Dogs are a source of serious danger to themselves and an embarrassment to their handlers. Webfoot retrievers are very trainable with an eagerness to please, which facilitates proper training for the home, hunting, and obedience. Their wonderful disposition and calm temperament allow them to be exceptional companions whether gently curled up next to your bed or quietly scanning the sky for the next flock of Mallards.

"To keep a competitive edge, we compete in AKC  Retrievers, Pointer, and Flushing,  hunting tests,  Obedience trials, and Conformation shows.

Webfoot Retrievers has a very successful training program,
from puppies to adult dogs, either hunting partners or competitors.

I started training my personal dogs in 1978,
since then I have put 315 titles on mine and my clients dogs!!!
Theses are just a few of the ribbons.

We prefer to start young dogs as soon as they have lost their puppy teeth, usually somewhere between 4-6 months old. They must be up to date on all vaccinations and have a microchip for identification.
We keep 8 client dogs in training at a time. They are housed with my retrievers in indoor or out door runs equipped with heat lamps in the winter and high volume misting fans in the summer.

Every morning, while I am out training, my staff bleaches every water bucket, food bowl, and power washes and squeegees the pens.
When we return the dogs are feed a measured amount of Purina Pro Plan Lamb and rice mixed with water.
Then they are let out in a few different, separated groups that have compatible temperaments for midday nap and play time.

Dogs are pack animals and playtime is important for their development. If your dog is not compatible he will have to play alone. The dogs have a total of two acres fenced in for playtime with shade trees, swimming holes, and grass to roll in.

When I transport the dogs they ride in my 22 stall custom made trailer. I designed it this large so I can take all dogs even the retired, and boarding dogs with me when I am on the road. That way I can keep their training going all the time and I do not have to worry about some one else taking care of them.

I designed it with all of the stalls low to the ground so they do not have to jump so high, and put the storage area above it. Six 2,000 cfm Exhaust fans in the storage area above, draw the air in from the out side through the expanded metal door, up through the expanded metal in the top of each stall through the storage area and out the top and rear of the trailer. These high volume fans replenish the air every .04 minutes.
The 100 gal fresh water tanks supply an internal misting system for each stall, and pressurized hoses for washing dogs or stalls while on the road.
Every stall has a rubber stall mat in it to cushion the ride.
Each of the three axles has electric brakes for excellent stopping ability. The trailer is made from steel, which although heavier than aluminum, is must stronger, and much more cost effective.

You let go first!!!
